Book grabs your attention from the first chapter as you're left wondering what a modern day cop killer has to do with a century old vampire tale, but once the prison riot starts and the blood-letting begins about 40% in then it become just a no-holds bar fight for survival against the Nosferatu in the classic sense within the confines of a prison block. Author does a great job developing his character and plot line together with some nifty twists that I don't want to give away less I spoil the fun. Very good book and leave you with one more passage to sink your teeth into, "I've been saving you for dessert, but the woman smell is so strong around here I can't help myself any longer. I have to have at least one bite."Part of my third Annual (and maybe final) October horror reviews. Have a Happy Halloween!

I enjoyed how this book took on vampires in a different sense...of cleaners. I was skeptical anyone could pull off a full length book about a vampire and a prison but I was pleasantly surprised. I just bought the sequel!
A pretty good story, even though I don't usually like horror.
As of 3/22/2016 it could use another thorough edit. lot missing words use wrong tenses lot. Worse toward end of book.
My first experience with Shaun Tennant and it was pretty darn good. I am not much into vampires but putting it in a maximum security prison made it interesting. There were a few typos throughout which I hate but still enjoyed the story.
I must have been asleep when I read the summary of this book. I probably would not have bought it if I had realized that it is a Zombie tale. However, I did make it through to the end, and enjoyed the suspense of the story line. Watch out though, many, many typos make for difficult reading at times.
I quite enjoyed reading this book. It was a new author for me. One that I will be reading more of. The thought of what goes on in prisons, is not my cup of tea. The blurb, caught my attention, and I am quite happy it did so, and am looking forward to the new adventure Josh Farewell, goes on.
Not sure if this is a horror book or just a fantasy book but either way it was a interesting book and kept my attention to the end.
Very entertaining. Good prison stories are hard to come by. Think early Stephen King. (Shawshank meets Salem's Lot, lol) A real page turner. Good characters, good story. The writing was so effortless and assured I bought in almost instantly. A writer to be watched.
